Under 11B Team,

This Saturday saw the biggest geographical spread of our 3 sides this season. Sean travelled with our white squad to Abbeyside and normally a trip to the seaside would see better weather but the boys adapted to the near freezing conditions and a lot more besides in a very close, high scoring match. Our other two sides played Ballyduff in the Williamstown Complex, all four sides here in the two games produced some fabulous passages of play and some wonderful goals that wouldn’t have been out of place on SKY Sports. Great to see both Bohemians sides try to maintain their shape, in and out, of possession. Loads more work to be done but a great learning experience for us again today. Many thanks to Abbeyside for the hospitality and thanks also to Ballyduff for two very sporting games.

U12C Bohs v St Paul’s We played away to second place St Paul’s last Sat morning. Our young Bohs team were slow to start, but gradually got into the game. Both teams played some excellent football in the first half, but the home team finished their chances. Our guys needed to step it up in the second half, too try and get something out of this game. Our defender ‘s improve their passing going forward and we created more width and improved our crossing into the box hitting the post twice and finally getting the breakthrough with Ruan getting his third of the season. Best for Bohs: Conor, Hugh, Harry, Adam, Dylan and Libby Team: Harry, Jacob, George, libby, Adam, Dylan H, Dylan R, Hugh, Danny, Jack, Leo, Fionn, Conor and Ruan,

U13B Bohs B v Piltown A.

We welcomed the league leaders and this young team put in another brave performance against strong opposition. Piltown opened strongly and our defense and keeper were quickly into action. Piltown took the lead and it took some great saves from Zac McGrath and great defending to keep the score the same until the break. We gained more confidence as the game progressed and created some chances. Towards the end as we tired Piltown added to their lead. Excellent performances all round with particular mention to Dara Kavanagh, Calum Sloane & Zac McGrath.

Squad Z McGrath, T Johnson, C Sloan, S Glynn, D Kavanagh, C Goff, K Fanning, S Fleming, J Fanning, D Leavey, D Cooney, B O Regan, T McNamara, S Cheevers, C Barron.

Waterford U12 Development Team.

The Late Paddy Kiely.

Paddy Kiely could only be described as a very loyal, hardworking and a truly Bohs legend throughout his almost 60year association with the club.

Capped at Youth level for Ireland playing against England at Anfield, Paddy had a tremendous career with Bohs, playing as a center forward & won numerous leagues & cups earning the full respect of both team mates & opposition alike.

Off the field Paddy contributed tremendously to the advancement of what is now Ben Wadding Park and was instrumental in sinking the large timber poles and erecting the fencing when the club originally moved from Marian to Poleberry in 1970, a legacy that set the very high standards for what can be seen to day in Ben Wadding Park

In the recent past Paddy was instrumental in kicking off the Boys Old Bohs Club but sadly due to ill health was unable to attend the initial gatherings.

All associated with the club wish to pass on our sincere condolences to Paddy’s wife Mary, his son’s Billy & Andrew, his daughters Grace & Jude and all their extended family on his recent death.

May he rest in peace.
